Animal Cruelty Tracked

The FBI have observed the link between animal abuse and human abuse. Reports will finally be tracked as there is a clear historical link between crimes towards animals and future violence against people. Some of the most infamous criminals have a history of violcence.

From a vegan standpoint, it’s interesting to observe this obvious pattern but to compare it to slaughterhouse workers who are often seen abusing animals before they legally murder them for a living. These employees are not allowed to sit on a jury panel as their work has desensitized them. It’s an interesting comparison to the violent criminals in society and their treatment of animals and others. Authority defines what is and isn’t a crime. Political powers can legalise the neglect or termination of life at will.

What then of the cruelty of dog fights, puppy mills, animal testing, cat and dog meat festivals, hunting and traditions of animal torture? We live in a world of visual and hidden violence. What do we speak up about and what do we continue to ignore and normalise?
