Football, The Shipping Forecast, the builder’s dusty ‘equipment’ taking priority over the free socket, or just the daily drive; the radio has remained a constant source of entertainment and therapy. The propaganda speeches and an abdication all gathered people together in hope or despair.

Teenagers would tape the charts from the radio and create their own compilations along with handwritten sleeve notes. Today, everything is an app or a click away. Vinyl and cassettes require care and effort compared to digital downloads that are instantaneous assumption and gratification.

In this world of the perfection driven; there is a small corner which has remained loyal to the non-remastered original sounds. The crackling anticipation of a vinyl record beginning or the random tuning of the radio stations; often offering the unexpected. Nostalgia settles on the imperfect companionship of the undying radio.
