22nd September

If we claim to love animals, why do we chain, hunt, cage and entertain ourselves with their suffering? Animals were not born to work as slaves for humans. Elephants have emotions and a sense of belonging, they care for their own, right through to burial. They perform mourning rituals for their dead and pay respect to the remains of unrelated elephants who may have died long ago.

Protect animals from hunters, selfies, abuse and tourist exploitation. Pay respect to see animals healthy, happy and free. Do not buy into the safari or colonial ideals. Animals are not target practice or fairground rides. Tusks are for elephants, not for trinkets and badges of ego. Leave nature as you hope to find her; undisturbed and unspoiled.
