Paint Your Own Reality

‘You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.’

George Bernard Shaw

When I’m in any city, my first thought turns to art galleries. They are my refuge from the concrete bustle, the church I visit to seek peace and counsel. Each echo chamber resonates with greatness. I stop to inhale the aura furnishing every space. The paint on the walls and paintings, the architecture holding history intact and those enigmatic eyes following your favour; each moment is met with wonder, familiarity and a sense of arrival. Drunk with colour and intrigue, I reluctantly leave my gilded friends safe in the awe of others.

When away from the housed art, we have but to wander through the blades of nature to find the greenest landscapes, the dancing waves and operatic sunrise. Art is all around. The grey silhouettes against your day urge you to bring back the fire from whence you came.
