When war rears its ugly head, the children playing in the street don’t expect to be hit by shrapnel or the news that their home is no more. The mother carrying her unborn child wants to bring her joy into a safe world but she has just lost her husband and has nowhere to go as her village has been evacuated.

We would do anything to protect the ones we love, to keep them safe from danger. All over the world, there are children and adults being displaced because of political legislation and the impact of war. Show your empathy and solidarity with refugees by supporting their plight with kind gestures and activism to educate others of universal refugee suffering. Everyone should have the right to a home and the comforting notion of safety. Please open your hearts and minds to the tragic reality of others who, by no fault of their own, have been forced to leave their country with nothing but trauma and the hope of starting again.
