Water Day

‘For me, being green means cleaning up the water. Water is the key. Start with water. You can’t ignore the fact that that nearly 80% of US waterways are potentially poisoned-benzene, solvents, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals.’

Erin Brockovich

How important is water to you? Imagine having to walk five miles each day to collect your daily requirement. Imagine feeding your children from a polluted water source. Yet, this is the worldwide reality for many. Modernism may refresh you with poison water Coke and forget to mention the villagers they plunder from. Science, technology and medicine give you vaccines, space age cars/homes/comfort; but at what/whose cost? Your mighty cow steak, bludgeoned, tender lamb and your stolen, organic cow breastmilk, all of this animal slavery is offloading its waste into nature and the water source for all species. Your water companies can up the chlorine but they cannot remove all of the unnatural contents within your glass of hydration. Metals and oral contraception in your drinking water can play havoc with your hormones and health.

Mindful living includes correcting your wasteful use of tap water while you brush your teeth, water your glyphosate infused lawn, wash your oil-guzzling vehicles and avoiding single-use plastic and where/how it is disposed. The oceans are under threat from human greed/carelessness. Clean water should be a natural resource for all species and plants. Shipping water over for the rich to fill their swimming pools, while so many families continue to endanger their health with toxic water, or no water at all. We live in a world of injustice on every level. Making a difference is more than just signing a petition or liking a social media celebrity’s observations; action begins with you. Change starts with all of us. Take a fresh look at what you have and how easily you access it; then spare a proactive thought for all that which is the opposite of your comfort zone. Clean up your act and pledge for the fundamental rights of others, animals and the natural, fragile world.
